YOUR GATEWAY TO KICKSTART

Aspire4u is proud to say that we are part of the government’s Kickstart Scheme to work with businesses to get more young people into work placements. The scheme targets young people aged 16-24 who are currently taking Universal Credit and are at-risk of long-term unemployment. To take part, employers must create a new position that offers 25 hours a week for six months to one of the targeted groups of young people. Aspire4u will be working in partnership with employers to offer 30 young people across the West and East Midlands these placements and any subsequent training requirements that may have to upskill the individuals involved.

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR YOUNG PEOPLE & BUSINESSES?

This is an exciting opportunity for young people to take their first steps into the world of work, gain valuable skills, and build their CV. Therefore, alongside the work placement, young people will also receive training in employment skills so they are equipped for future roles. This training will build their confidence and competence as they learn more about how to negotiate the world of work.

Businesses will benefit from the energy of their new youthful employees, even gaining fresh insights into old ways of working. Secondly, The government will cover 100% of the national minimum wage and National Insurance contributions for a new role. Employers will have an obligation to provide training to young people in addition to opening up the work placement. Therefore, the training must be completed alongside the job.

OUR OFFERING TO YOU…

We have started ‘The Kickstart Network’ to ensure local organisations take advantage of this rare opportunity. If you have applied, or are interested in applying, we’re here to answer your questions. The Kickstart Network is an opportunity to network with other organisations, find out about funding opportunities, gain intel, and learn more about youth employability activities. As youth engagement specialists, we understand the tools young people need to thrive, and we can help you meet your training targets.
