Last weekend, Aspire4U CIC took part in CBBC’s Awesome Authors weekend in Birmingham’s Centenary Square. At the action-packed two-day event, we pulled together with our partners, Lyfeproof and SEBD Solutions, to deliver the 4 O’Clock Club’s School of Rap. At workshops throughout the day, children of all ages learned to write their own rap tunes, taking inspiration from books such as Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Harry Potter, Diary of a Wimpy Kid and more. The children developed their rhyming skills/word-play, reflective thinking and cooperative skills and experienced the rush of finishing a creative activity.

The BBC Learning Executive producer commented:

“Just wanted to say a massive personal thanks for … delivering such an entertaining and inspiring workshop. For me it was one of the highlights of the whole event. Your whole team were great – lovely to work with from our point of view and fantastic with the kids.”
